“Sometimes, it’s just not about the money”

For a story revolving around money, cash in its cold hard form is conspicuously absent in the film. When we embarked on the production of CASHLESS at the start of 2008, we envisioned it to be a film exploring how ordinary people grappled with communicating, connecting and sustaining meaningful relationships with each other in a hi-tech cashless society. Little did we expect that just months later, the economic crisis would sweep the world, with the idea of cashless-ness now taking on a more poignant spin in this current landscape of financial loss.

We owe a debt of thanks to all the wonderful people we’ve met along the way who have put in their time, effort and faith to make this film possible. We cannot say thank you enough for your heartfelt generosity; your passion and unwavering belief in the film has kept us going in the difficult days of work on the film.

Indeed, above all else, CASHLESS is a celebration of friendship and family; and of connections lost, found and renewed. The journey for CASHLESS (2009) has just begun and we warmly invite you to share it with us.
